"Hindi ko akalain na magkakaroon ng ganitong frame sa Pilipinas.
(I couldn't believe that this certain frame would be here in the Philippines.)"
Colnago is known for its rich racing heritage and innovative designs since the 1950s. Aside from the multiple major titles of Eddy Merckx and the proprietary star-shaped tubes, Colnago has made a mark with the development of the C40 carbon frame. Produced in collaboration with Ferrari, it is considered to be the template of the modern carbon racing frames.
When a 1996 Colnago C40 came up for sale in a Facebook group, a first-generation Lampre Panaria/MAPEI bike to be exact, Albert grabbed this opportunity without any hesitation. The bike needed some TLC and a slight restoration was in order, Albert used photos and builds from the internet as basis for his build.
