Our local cycling scene has reached greater heights in the past years. More and more people got into cycling, pushing the limits of talent and competition. Training and racing got more and more serious that sometimes we forget the true meaning of riding a bike, which is having fun.
Metro Race Collective, the group behind Circulo Verde Chasedown, worked together with the Philippine Bicycle Demo Day to bring the fun back in racing. On November 26, groups of cyclists from different backgrounds have come together for some off-road fun for Loco Locross.
Loco Locross is a cyclocross race set in the Filinvest Trails, complete with obstacles. Racers has to take on obstacles such as mud, dirt, sand, and rocks. And it's not going to be a complete cyclocross race without barriers, steep uphills, and tight corners.
What's unique about this race is that people from all sorts of cycling scenes have come together and share the same fun and excitement. There's a category for everyone: Fixed Gear, Singlespeeds, Cyclocross bikes, and of course the Women's category.
This very same effort is the realization of what the race is all about, which is building a community and getting more people interested in Cyclocross.
