This year's PhilBike Expo has proven to be one of the most sought after events of the local cycling scene, making its mark and putting it at par with other international bike shows. In just its second year, the biggest cycling event of the country has managed to converge the biggest brands in the industry and communities all over the country under one roof.
For three days from October 2 to 4, the SMX Convention Center housed a wide array of booths where the biggest local and international brands showcase their latest products, and local cycling clubs and communities display their impressive bike builds. Numerous games and exhibits have also been arranged by the exhibitors to ensure that there is always something to cater to the diversity of attendees.
Aside from the various mix of bike shops and brands, there were two huge addition to this year's expo. Two bike tracks on both ends of the halls were set-up; one is a wooden indoor mountain bike track, and the other is a bike park where the first-ever BMX National Championship took place.
Three of the biggest names in the international bike scene also graced the event. Guinness World Record-holder and road bike freestyle superstar Vittorio Brumotti highlighted the event, together with the BMX flatland legends Matthias Dandois and Viki Gomez who all flew in from Europe.
