‘Ride Of Hope’ was conceived as a benefit ride for the kids who are fighting against cancer at the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City. 3 riders namely Vincent Palisoc, Neil Claves and Calvin Marwood rode a total distance of 1,260 for six days around Luzon, an exploration some cyclists would only dream of completing.
It was 5am in the morning at McDonalds Bacoor and everyone is getting ready for the 4th annual Lagarista race. I saw a lot of familiar faces, most of them are friends whom I have known in the fixed gear scene for quite a while. As the preparation is underway, a lot of new faces are starting to arrive at the starting point. I can see the eagerness on their faces, while some are nervous as if it was their first time to join this event.
Adventure cycling has recently been gaining traction and more and more people are getting into bike touring. One of the more popular destinations locally is Benguet and the Mountain Province, which at some point will require the rider to be on their lightest gear possible.
